What we do

St Chad's Sanctuary supports asylum seekers and refugees in Birmingham. Many people arrive in the city with almost nothing and nowhere to turn. We are here so that no one has to face that on their own.

How we help

  • English Classes

Formal classes from beginner to pre-intermediate level, plus informal conversation sessions.

  • Clothes, food and toiletries

Clothes, food, toiletries and other practical items to take away when you drop in.

  • Information and Support

Advice sessions every Friday — immigration, asylum support, health information, and referrals to other organisations.

Our vision

A world where people seeking sanctuary are treated with dignity, empathy and respect.

Our mission

To engage with those seeking sanctuary and offer welcome, services and support.

Our values

  • Welcome
  • Dignity
  • Compassion
  • Social Justice
  • Empowerment

Welcoming people seeking sanctuary since 2010. Founder and Patron: Margaret Walsh, IJS (Infant Jesus Sister).
